Invisible anti-bacterial protection

A range of powder coatings designed to ensure surface hygiene thanks to a new formula that limits bacterial contamination.

Ponzio AB, a special anti-bacterial coating for its aluminium window and doors is the result of the design and technology of Ponzio, a company that constantly strives for cutting-edge technology and ambitious performance.

The revolutionary idea arose from the growing demand for anti-bacterial coatings that has increased due to the current consumer concern for hygiene.

The powder coating system not only fulfils all the protective and decorative features expected of a high-performance coating, but also meets the highest anti-bacterial standards.

The active ingredient reduces bacterial proliferation by up to 99.5% and keeps surfaces clean while reducing the risk of contamination.

The decision to focus on this new product seemed fitting to us at a time when the sanitisation of home, study and especially work environments, in any sector, has become essential.

Ponzio AB protection guarantees quality products and a defence against the growth of bacteria.

For internal and external finishes

Ponzio AB’s anti-bacterial active ingredients for paints and coatings actively inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria and moulds in the product by up to 99.5%, thus reducing the risk of contamination and complementing existing hygiene protocols. They also reduce the formation of stains and unpleasant odours.

What is anti-bacterial technology?

Ponzio AB coating is a special treatment, specifically formulated by our partners, containing an active ingredient with anti-bacterial properties.

What does anti-bacterial mean?

Anti-bacterial means a substance that is able to reduce the presence of microbes such as bacteria and mould. In this case, it is a coating that avoids all the risks associated with the proliferation of bacteria (i.e. disease, deterioration of materials, reduced product life, unpleasant odours, etc.).

What types of anti-bacterial additives exist?

There are four anti-bacterial additive technologies: silver ion, copper ion, zinc ion and biological additives. Ponzio AB uses powder paint coatings based on silver ions, with natural anti-bacterial properties and a disinfectant with a broad-spectrum germicidal action. It is effective against many types of bacteria and fungi.

What types of pathogens does it prevent?

Bacteria such as MRSA and E.coli can survive on hard surfaces for many months, resulting in a significant possibility of cross-contamination. Microbes such as moulds can extract nutrients from materials and compromise their properties and performance, causing premature product failure. The technology used in Ponzio AB coatings has proven to be effective against numerous microbes including: Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria, Legionella, Campylobacter, Pseudomonas, Shigella, Aspergillus Niger.

Are Ponzio AB powder coatings toxic?

No, they are the same as normal finishes in this respect.

How long do they last and what is their long-term effect?

The protection is continuous against bacterial colonisation throughout the lifetime of the product and the protection is not removed even during daily cleaning of the window or door. Protection will only cease if the coating is removed from the item.

Can it be applied to all models and finishes?

Ponzio AB paint is available on all coated finishes – RAL POLYCROM and MARBELL colour samples.

Can it also be applied to accessories?

Ponzio AB coating can also be applied to all Ponzio original accessories.

Does it need special maintenance?

Products coated with the special Ponzio AB coating are treated like any of our other products and, therefore, do not require any special maintenance. We recommend the use of the PiùVitall cleaning kit for prolonged product life.

Does Ponzio AB have the health certificates to prove its effectiveness?

Ponzio AB coating is tested and approved by quality control according to ISO 22196:2011.

Why are anti-bacterial coatings so important nowadays?

We all spend time in public and private places every day, whether for work, study or leisure, through which thousands of people have passed.
Windows and doors, in particular, are the categories most exposed to the transmission of pathogens, sometimes even serious ones.
Thousands of hands touch doors and windows in public and private locations thousands of times, so that the fixtures, which are most frequently touched, can carry easily transmissible diseases and are a constant danger for us and our children.
For this reason, the use of Ponzio AB is very important in minimising the transmission of bacteria that can proliferate and may even remain on solid surfaces such as doors, windows and handles for weeks.
